Chastity Cage Size Guide: How to Measure for the Right Fit

Choosing a chastity cage by a label such as small, standard or large is unreliable. A useful chastity cage size comparison starts with three separate measurements: flaccid shaft length, shaft circumference or diameter, and base-ring circumference or diameter.

After measuring, compare your numbers with the exact specifications on the individual product page. Cage dimensions, ring shapes and measurement terminology are not standardized across every design.

The Three Measurements You Need

What You Need Before Measuring

Prepare:

• A flexible measuring tape

• A non-elastic string if a flexible tape is unavailable

• A straight ruler

• A pen or note-taking app

• The size chart or specifications for the product you are considering

Take measurements while fully flaccid and relaxed. Record the numbers in millimeters when possible because many chastity cage product pages use millimeters.

Bodies can change with temperature and position. Take more than one relaxed measurement and retain the range instead of relying on one unusually high or low result.

Step 1: Measure the Base-Ring Size

This measurement applies to conventional cages with a ring positioned behind the penis and scrotum. Ringless devices may use a different fitting system.

1. Pass a flexible tape or non-elastic string around the base of the penis and behind the scrotum, following the position where the base ring will sit.

2. Keep the tape in contact with the skin without pulling it tight enough to compress the tissue.

3. Mark where the tape or string overlaps.

4. Lay the string flat and measure the circumference.

5. Record the result in millimeters.

Product pages normally show the ring’s internal diameter, not the circumference around the body. When conversion is necessary, use:

Diameter = circumference ÷ 3.14

For example, a circumference of 141 mm produces an estimated circular diameter of approximately 44.9 mm.

This calculation provides a comparison point, not a universal size recommendation. Circular, oval, curved and anatomical rings can feel different even when their listed dimensions appear similar. Always follow the instructions for the specific product.

Step 2: Measure Flaccid Shaft Length

Measure while fully flaccid.

1. Position a straight ruler at the base of the penis against the body.

2. Measure from the base to the tip.

3. Record the measurement without rounding it to a general size label.

4. Repeat the measurement and record the observed range.

When reviewing a product page, distinguish between:

• Internal or usable cage length

• Cage length

• Total assembled length

• Total length including the ring or locking section

These terms do not always describe the same distance. A product’s total assembled length should not automatically be treated as its internal cage length.

Some fitting guides recommend choosing a cage shorter than the measured flaccid length. However, the amount varies by product design and manufacturer. Do not apply a fixed subtraction to every cage. Use the specific product’s measurement instructions.

Step 3: Measure Shaft Circumference and Diameter

The cage’s internal diameter is separate from its base-ring size.

1. Wrap a soft measuring tape around the widest part of the relaxed shaft.

2. Keep the tape level and in contact with the skin without compressing it.

3. Record the circumference.

4. Divide the circumference by 3.14 if the product lists its cage opening as an internal diameter.

A digital caliper can measure diameter directly, but it must be used gently and should not compress the tissue.

Do not use the shaft diameter as the base-ring diameter. They describe different parts of the device and require separate measurements.

Before choosing a size, look for the following information:

• Internal cage length

• Internal cage diameter

• Base-ring internal diameter

• Available ring options

• Total assembled length

• Cage-to-ring gap or spacer options

• Material

• Adjustment range

• Included locks, rings, straps and accessories

A small or micro cage does not necessarily include a small base ring. “Small,” “tiny” and “micro” commonly describe the cage body or usable length, while the ring may have separate size options.

Flat Chastity Cages use a low-profile shape, so their listed cage length may not compare directly with a conventional tube-shaped cage. Check the diagram and complete dimensions for each model.

Does Material Affect Sizing?

Material does not change the measurements you need, but it can change how closely a device follows the body.

Metal Chastity Cages are generally rigid and substantial. Their internal dimensions and ring shape should be checked carefully.

Silicone Chastity Cages are generally softer and more flexible, but flexibility should not be used to compensate for an unsuitable ring or cage size.

Resin and plastic products may be lighter, while open-frame and mesh designs can use different structures. Compare actual dimensions rather than assuming two products with the same size label will fit identically.

What to Do When You Are Between Sizes

Do not automatically choose the smaller option merely to create a tighter fit.

Instead:

There is no universal “one-finger rule” that applies reliably to every ring shape and device. The ring should not cause discomfort or restrict blood flow, but the correct evaluation depends on the product’s design and instructions.

Check the First Fit Before Extended Wear

Before fitting the device, inspect the cage, ring, lock and connecting parts for damage, sharp edges or incorrect assembly. Keep the key and any required removal tools immediately available.

A first fitting should remain observable. Do not turn an untested fit into extended or unattended wear.

Remove the device if you experience:

• Numbness or tingling

• Increasing swelling

• Unusual discoloration

• Cold skin or a noticeable temperature change

• Broken or irritated skin

• Difficulty urinating

• A device that becomes trapped or cannot be removed normally

Comparing usable length with total length

Assuming every variant includes the same parts

Treating tighter as automatically better
